Roadside assistance awhelp24 has received a call from Austria. Driver of the polish Volkswagen (VW Crafter) said he had a breakdown on the highway in Austria. The had a badly damaged, almost broken propeller shaft. In order to avoid penalties for delayed delivery, the vehicle was towed to the unloading point at 6235 Reith im Alpbachtal, Austria. The cardan shaft was thereby dismantled.
Finding the cardan shaft was not easy. The VW Crafter uses 3 propshaft models: L1, L2 and L3. It turns out that they are also installed in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, but they have other part numbers. We had found it on the website www.partsbit.de. A specialist workshop has then installed on place. This was four times cheaper than in the VW workshop, which also also had no time for repair for the next two weeks.
