Contact with the police and BALG

The most important thing during a police control is to understand what you, or rather your driver, was accused of. We offer our support in order to help you minimize the resulting time loss and keep any fines as low as possible. We can resolve most issues directly on-site or provide consultation with other more difficult cases in order to safe your money.

The police stopped your truck

If your truck has significant deficiencies, the police have the right to keep the truck's documents and cancel its license plates. The trucks are often escorted to the next technical control station in order to create a list of its flaws. Once all the defects are repaired, they will return your license plates and the original registration documents. During such cases, you only have the options to either transporting or repairing your defective vehicle.

Vehicle transport outside of Germany

If the repair costs are too high, you can choose to have your vehicle transported outside of Germany. The police will send the documents and the license plates to the authorities of your home country. If you want to avoid that, the truck or trailer must be repaired in Germany. Nevertheless, we can help you arrange the transport for your defective vehicle.

Towing to the next service station

Your truck was escorted or towed to the next service station by the police, but the local service is too expensive for you? You can always choose to take your truck to another workshop. But keep the following in mind:

  • There is a limit on how far your vehicle can be towed, except during emergencies.
  • You will need a special low bed semi-trailer in order to transport your truck.
  • When transporting a trailer or semi-trailer, any additional constructions or platforms must be removed and disassembled beforehand.
  • In order to load trucks or heavy machinery, you might need a loading crane..

Choosing the right service point or workshop

We can help you choose a compatible service in your area. There we can come to an agreement on the repair cost and supervise the full process from beginning until the end. Most German workshops plan their work schedule at least one week in advance and charge around €100 per hour, so it is better to make sure you find the right service partner on the first try.

What happens when you leave your vehicle or truck in Germany?

If you leave your defective vehicle on the private property of a German company, they will charge "standing fees" of around €20 to €100 a day. If you do not pick up the truck within a certain period of time, it will be auctioned off in order to pay for the creditors costs. Also, the police will bring this case to court and your company, as well as the CEO, will be held accountable.
