Cancelling of a Truck
If your truck has significant deficiencies, the police have the right to keep the truck's documents and cancel the registration plates. The trucks are often escorted to the next technical control station to prepare a list of defects. When all defects are repaired, you get back the license plates and original registration documents. In this case, there is only the possibility of repair or transport of the defective vehicle.
Transport of the Vehicle outside Germany

Towing of the Vehicle to the Next Service Station
Your truck was escorted or towed to the next service station by the police, but the service is too expensive for you? You have the choice to bring your truck to another service shop. But you must consider the following:
- It is not allowed to tow the vehicle for long distances, except in emergency cases.
- You will need a special low bed semi-trailer for transport of your truck and machines.
- When transporting a trailer or semi-trailer, the construction must be removed and disassembled.
- For loading of trucks and machinery, you will possibly need a loading crane.
Choice of a Service Point and Repair Work

Most German workshops plan their work at least one week in advance and charge around €100 per hour, so it is better to make sure you find the right service partner on the first try.
What Happens When You Leave Your Vehicle or Truck in Germany?
In case you leave your defective vehicle on a private property of a German company, they will charge "standing fees" of €20 to €100 a day. If you do not pick up the truck within a period, the vehicle will be auctioned off to pay the creditors' costs. Also, the police will bring this case to court and your company, as well as the CEO, will be held accountable.
