In Catalonia and Aragon, law enforcement agencies have dealt a crushing blow to organized crime specializing in theft from cargo transport. As a result of two large-scale operations, two powerful gangs were dismantled and 26 of their members were arrested.

The criminal enterprise was put on hold after the arrest of four men at an AP-7 rest stop in early October. Police found them with knives and tools for breaking and entering directly inside a truck trailer.

However, the main success is the result of the "Ordag-Teloners" investigation. Continuing the traditions of "gentlemen of fortune," the criminals had created an entire infrastructure: two warehouses for stolen goods in the suburbs of Barcelona, where 9 tons of high-end electronics, designer clothing, and gadgets with a total value of over 1.5 million euros were stored. In total, they are charged with 59 theft episodes, committed with threats and intimidation of drivers.

A characteristic of these gangs was their resilience. The first one was arrested back in August 2024, but the second one not only reorganized but also switched to more aggressive tactics.

The operation became a model of interagency cooperation: the arrests involved the traffic patrol, drones, and a helicopter, coordinated by the investigative court of Huesca.
